Florence, Italy: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Louise from EatingAroundItaly.com]

Louisa overlooking Piazza Michelangelo in Firenze, one of the best places to travel with your significant other

Florence is one of Europe’s most desirable destinations and one of the safest cities in Italy for solo female travelers because of its incredibly rich contribution to art, art history, architecture, music, sculpture, and of course, its historical importance to the country. Today, it remains equally vital to the Italian peninsula, acting as a significant learning center, and economic pillar, and full of unforgettable experiences and sights for any type of person.

Florence beats with romance night and day, offering several opportunities for both cultural itineraries and leisurely romantic activities, making it one of the best places to travel with your significant other. The city is small enough that as a couple before marriage, you won’t risk any ‘romantic trouble’ fighting over locations, maps, different Florence bucket lists, food, etc. The food and drink are so good in Florence that you and your loved one should be spending a significant amount of time indulging in this!

Florence is so exciting, easy to navigate, easy to communicate, and rich in a wide variety of activities, making it almost impossible to not find common ground and fully enjoy your time together as pre-married couples.

For the most intimate and romantic experience, book a luxurious stay at the boutique hotel Antica Torre in Via Tornabuoni, which has a gorgeous outdoor bar and restaurant on-site.

The best way to arrive in Florence from abroad is to book a flight directly into Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola, just 20 minutes outside the city center. From there you can either take a very efficient tram ride to the main train station Santa Maria Novella or take a taxi directly to your final destination within Florence. If for any reason you cannot fly directly into Florence, consider Rome or Milan as you can easily book a high-speed train that will take you right to the city center.

Spend your days leisurely wandering the grand squares or piazze, home to some of the most famous architectural contributions of all time. Get lost hand in hand on side streets, away from the crowds, stopping in for Italian coffee, gelato, aperitivo (cocktails with small nibbles), meals, and shopping at artisan stores. For those more museum-inclined, choose from The Uffizi, The Accademia Gallery, or the Bargello Sculpture Museum (book ahead).

Make your way across Ponte Vecchio and admire all the handmade jewelry that you would perhaps purchase for one another. At this point, you will be in Oltrarno, or on the other side of the river, where the locals reside. Enter on the side entrance in Via Romana to the Boboli Gardens (Pitti Palace Royal Gardens) and explore hidden alleyways and paths, taking in some of the most romantic views of Florence.

Eat At Quattro Leone, in Piazza della Passera, close by. This whole area of Oltrarno is where to look for authentic experiences, including a couples cooking class at Florence Food Studio or intimate wine tasting at Il Santino.

For aperitivo, check out one of the many rooftop bars in Florence such as The Rinascente, overlooking the iconic Duomo. For your last evening, have a romantic walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo and enjoy a beautiful sunset overlooking the entire city.

A waterfall in Iceland, one of the best places to travel with your significant other

Iceland is one of the best places to visit with your significant other before marriage. Iceland is incredibly scenic, with beautiful landscapes and stunning waterfalls. There are also a variety of wonderful hot springs and lagoons, perfect for relaxing and spending quality time with just the two of you.

The best way to experience Iceland is to rent a car and take a road trip through south Iceland. Road-tripping through South Iceland will allow you to visit Iceland’s famous black sand beach, explore the stunning waterfalls Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss, relax at the Secret Lagoon, and more.

To get the best experience, rent a car from the airport and drive 2.5 hours to the picturesque village of Vik. Staying in Vik is the perfect place to see southern Iceland, as it is close to several amazing sights. Hotel Kira is a great hotel in Vik, that is highly rated and in the town center.

Taking a road trip through south Iceland is perfect for anyone wanting to travel to a beautiful place, but also have lots of quality time with just their significant other to focus on each other. Prague, Czechia: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Pam from The Directionally Challenged Traveler]

Pam and her significant other with the view of Prague

For our first anniversary, my (now) husband and I traveled to Prague for New Year’s Celebration. Prague was somewhere that seemed to have it all – cobblestone streets, Christmas markets, an impressive castle.

Most people get to Prague by flying right into their airport, Václav Havel Airport Prague. We arrived by driving from Berlin, Germany. There are plenty of things to do for any type of traveler in the city. Explore the historical heart of the city in the UNESCO-listed Prague Castle, where you can marvel at the majestic St. Vitus Cathedral and enjoy panoramic views of the city from its ancient walls.

Meander through the charming cobblestone streets of the Old Town, where you’ll discover architectural gems like the Astronomical Clock and the iconic Charles Bridge, both steeped in history and surrounded by lively street performances and vendors. Indulge in the city’s rich arts and culture scene by visiting world-class museums, art galleries, and theaters. It’s easy to explore Prague from the Ibis Praha Old Town Hotel, right in the heart of the city.

In December, the city comes alive with holiday spirit and there are Christmas markets in Old Town. It was incredibly romantic to be here on our anniversary. However, during the New Year’s Eve celebration, the city got wild. People were drunk, throwing bottles, firecrackers, and fireworks on every street. At 12:30 in the morning (after the fireworks) we had to navigate across the city to get back to our hotel.

This was in 2010 (so wifi abroad was not easily accessible). I was freaking out during this and just wanted to be safe, my partner kept a calm head and navigated us through the streets. He even stood up to the taxi driver who tried to rip us off. Now we know to learn the language before we travel. Once safely back in our hotel, he made sure I was okay and promised that we’d laugh about this night one day. I knew then that he was a person that I could rely on to be there for me. We’ve been married for over ten years now and are still traveling together.

Traveling is an incredibly stressful activity. The places are beautiful and Prague, which is indeed one of the best places to travel with your significant other, still holds a special place in my heart. However, learning how someone deals in a new place with new stressors is so important for a healthy relationship and travel can help you do that.

Vancouver Island, Canada: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Chanelle from Chasing Chanelle]

The West Coast Trail in Vancouver Island, Canada

If you’re looking to go on an adventure with your significant other, there is no better place than Canada’s Vancouver Island. The 450-km-long island is full of remote beaches, old-growth forests, huge mountain ranges, and untouched wilderness. There are exciting things to do here for every type of couple, from caving, surfing, and kayaking to whale-watching, winery tours, and exploring historic cities.

But if you’re truly looking for an adventure, then hiking one of Vancouver Island’s stunning trails is a must. In particular, the famous West Coast Trail is a unique and bucket-list-worthy multi-day hiking experience that will challenge you individually and as a couple.

Completing this 75-km hike is no small feat. With a mix of beach walking, boulder fields and technical forest terrain, tide tables to read, and mud, ladders, and cable cars to navigate, this hike will see you working together to overcome obstacles and face physical and mental challenges. This is a great way to get to know your partner on a deeper level and practice problem-solving together before taking the next step in your relationship, which makes it one of the best places to travel with your significant other.

And these difficulties will all be worth it for the epic views of unique coastal landscapes, stunning waterfalls, and enchanting forests. With beach camping every night, the chance of spotting marine and wildlife, and enjoy some of the world’s most beautiful coastline.

If you’re interested in doing the West Coast Trail, you will need to plan, as reservations for the hiking season open in January with spots filling up quickly. If you don’t get reservations, you can instead do one of the island’s other popular hikes, such as the Juan de Fuca trail.

The easiest way to get to Vancouver Island is by ferry from Vancouver or Seattle to Victoria or Nanaimo. You can bring your car over on the ferry, which is the best way to travel around the island.

If you’re traveling to and from Victoria, a great way to end your trip is to spend a night or two in a historic bed & breakfast, such as the Fairholme Manor Inn. This is a great way to immerse yourself in some of the island’s history and enjoy some well-deserved rest together.

Aeolian Island, Italy: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Josephine from JosephineRemo.com]

Josephine and her significant other on the Aeolian Island

Tucked away off the northern coast of Sicily, Lipari is the largest of the sun-drenched Aeolian Islands. The Aeolian are some of the most incredible travel experiences in Italy you might have. It’s a laid-back group of islands that presents a lovely balance of natural beauty, interesting history, and tempting cuisine. If you’re thinking about traveling to a romantic destination as a couple, Lipari might just be the ideal pick.

There are many great things to do on the Aeolian islands, but a must is to do a boat tour of the different islands. At night, you can witness the active volcano of Stromboli in all its glowing glory. An experience that’s both exciting and beautiful.

For wine lovers, a visit to the Tenuta di Castellaro winery is a must. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, where you can sample local wines and enjoy a picnic as the sun sets over the sea. The views are spectacular, the wine is fantastic, the food is incredible, and the setting is romantic.

When it comes to accommodation, Agriturismo Tivoli ticks all the boxes. This farm-stay experience brings together rustic charm and comfort. With its location amid vineyards and citrus groves, it’s a quiet spot that allows for real relaxation and quality time together.

Getting to Lipari is fairly straightforward. The most common route is by ferry from the northern ports of Sicily, such as Milazzo, Messina, or Palermo. Once you’re there, keep an eye out for local festivals that often take place in the summer months, adding a bit of cultural flair to your visit.

Traveling together to a place like Lipari can be a great opportunity to grow together as a couple and this makes it one of the best places to travel with your significant other. This spot offers a vacation that’s equal parts adventurous, beautiful, romantic, and relaxing.

[Trysta from This Travel Dream]

Trysta with her significant other in Kauai

Nestled in the heart of the Hawaiian Islands, Kauai is the perfect destination for couples to visit before marriage. This enchanting island offers a plethora of activities to create lasting memories together.

We love Kauai because its atmosphere encourages us to slow down, appreciate simplicity, and respect the island’s culture and sacred land.

Coming from a big city where everyone is constantly on the move, taking a breather, and embracing each other’s presence in a new place sets the perfect tone for couples to get to know each other on a more profound level.

We look forward to immersing ourselves in the local culture, fostering a deep and meaningful connection as we journey together before taking the next step in our relationship.

There are plenty of outdoor activities to explore, such as seeing the majestic Napali Coast’s dramatic cliffs and hiking Waimea Canyon, famously known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” What better way to grow closer with your partner than exploring these natural wonders together?

Kauai is also renowned for its spectacular beaches, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and soaking up the sun. Relax on the sandy shores of Poipu Beach or take a romantic stroll along the beautiful Hanalei Bay. With every magical moment together, you’ll expand your connection even more.

Another top activity in Kauai is Kayaking the Wailua River and visiting the spectacular Secret Falls. From the calming river to the breathtaking view of the falls, this excursion will surely be memorable.

To get to Kauai, you’ll need to fly into Lihue Airport, the main airport on the island. We recommend staying at the Sheraton Kauai Resort, a beachfront property with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

I love visiting Kauai with my partner because I see his true colors when we aim to conquer our fears and tackle the unknown together. The slower pace of life forces us to stay present, be more patient and supportive of each other, and enjoy the journey.

Whether exploring the island together or enjoying each other’s company, this pre-marriage vacation to Kauai is one for the books since its one of the best places to travel with your significant other!

Paris, France: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Martha from MayCauseWanderlust.com]

Martha kissing her significant other in Paris

We all know Paris is the City Of Love. So it’s one of the best places to travel with your significant other, especially if you want to make a romantic gesture.

My boyfriend (now husband) surprised me with a romantic trip to Paris for our first Valentine’s Day together – and it was a wonderful surprise. It’s a memory we still look back on with hearts in our eyes.

There are lots of romantic things to do in Paris for couples, including sneaking a kiss at the top of the Eiffel Tower or one of the many other viewpoints in the city. If you go to Paris in Spring, make sure you visit some of the gorgeous parks, many of which burst into pink bloom in cherry blossom season. Take a stroll around the cobbled lanes of Montmartre and gaze into each other’s eyes over the tables of one of the many quaint cafes.

The only word of caution about traveling to Paris for a romantic trip is that it might help to understand that while there are romantic things to do in Paris, that doesn’t mean every corner of the city will be pretty and pristine. Paris is a big bustling city with millions of people living their lives, so there are both gorgeous spots and some of the downsides you get in all cities, including noise and dirt.

If you don’t live close to Paris, you might want to fly there. Paris has several international airports you can fly into. But if you’re in a neighboring country, you might want to take advantage of the good rail network and travel there by train.

And if you want to make this a special trip, why not stay at one of the city’s many five-star hotels such as the Hotel Regina, right next to the Louvre museum?

Malta: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

Robyn with her significant other in a boat in Malta

The tiny country of Malta is a great Mediterranean destination and one of the best places to travel with your significant other. From picturesque beaches and landscapes to historical charm and amazing activities, spending ten days in Malta is the perfect romantic getaway for any couple.

Malta’s scenery provides the ideal romantic backdrop to create unforgettable memories. Hire a private boat to tour the dramatic caves, snorkel in the crystal-clear water of the Blue Lagoon, then watch the sunset from the Dingli Cliffs.

Get to know your partner by exploring Malta’s towns and villages together. Wander the medieval city of Mdina, known for its romantic alleys, and enjoy lunch and amazing views at the Fontanella Tea Garden. Then head to Golden Bay for an afternoon of sand and sun.

Surround yourself with beautifully preserved temples and Baroque architecture in the capital of Valletta. Immerse yourselves in culture and enjoy a unique dinner at Rampila, housed in a 16th-century bastion.

And what’s more romantic than watching fireworks with your significant other? Every April, Malta hosts the International Fireworks Festival, a fantastic display of colors and lights in the gorgeous Grand Harbor. So, hop onto a boat, cuddle up, and enjoy the show and amazing views of Valletta and the 3 Cities.

The Valletta Lucente Guesthouse is a romantic B&B located in the historic center with beautifully designed rooms and homemade breakfast. Grab a bottle of wine, and head to the rooftop terrace to admire the views.

The easiest and fastest way to get to Malta is by airplane. There are cheap, direct flights from many European capital cities, including London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Rome, Brussels, Athens, and Zurich.

Havelock Island, India: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Shweta from Zest In A Tote]

Shweta in front of a door in Havelock Island, India

Andaman & Nicobar Islands are on the far right of the Indian mainland located in the Indian Ocean. Though they are connected to major Indian cities on the east side via flight and ferry, they feel like a foreign land. Havelock is one of the largest islands set here. And this is where I chose to go for a getaway with my significant other. Think pristine beaches, verdant forests, blue waters, and very less crowds.

The easiest way to get to Havelock is to take a flight to Port Blair (from Calcutta or Chennai) and then a ferry from Port Blair to Havelock. This would usually involve spending a night at Port Blair either on the way in or the way out. You should use that to visit The Cellular Jail at Port Blair, a British colonial prison and now a popular tourist attraction.

A beach vacation is a good idea to get to know the other person. We had signed up to do a scuba diving certification together. But other than that, there was no planned activity. Our days were spent exploring the pristine beaches at Havelock Island, reading books, watching the sunset over the ocean, and talking with each other. I can’t think of a better way to get away from hectic office schedules and just spend time with each other.

We stayed at the beautiful Barefoot Resort located just 200 meters from the lovely Radhanagar beach. This 5-star resort has a private beach area, We stayed in a traditional Nicobari-styled cottage.

New Zealand: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Bailey from My Queenstown Diary]

a Motorhome in New Zealand, one of the best places to travel with your significant other

A road trip around New Zealand will be one of the most memorable and worthwhile trips you could ever take with your life partner. New Zealand is a gorgeous country with such diverse landscapes, and the best part is that it is small enough to drive! This is why most people embark on a road trip in NZ; having the freedom of your wheels is the best way to explore all the corners of the country.

New Zealand is very much set up for road-tripping tourists and even more so for those traveling in a motorhome or campervan! With free and cheap campsites dotted all over the country, you can pull up in your home-on-wheels and relax under the stars. Plus, renting a motorhome in New Zealand is easy with plenty of rental companies to choose from that cater to all budgets.

But living on the road in a campervan or motorhome isn’t always roses, which is why it’s the perfect trip for any couple! Spending so much time confined in a small space is the ultimate test of a relationship. You’ll also have to spend lots of time planning, navigating, and even cooking on this holiday – there’s a lot more to it than sitting at an all-inclusive resort! But that’s what makes it so rewarding!

In your motorhome, you can venture to lesser-known waterfalls in the deep South; to the unofficial 7th Wonder of the World, Milford Sound; camp among glaciers in Fiordland National Park and Mount Cook National Park; and of course, explore all of the Lord of the Rings film locations in “Middle Earth.” New Zealand is a paradise and you’re sure to have the most wonderful time driving around one of the most naturally diverse places in the world, and all of this makes it one of the best places to travel with your significant other.

Sri Lanka: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Min from AmsterdamTravelBlog.com]

the view in Sri Lanka

When I traveled alone in Europe at 22, I saw many young couples backpacking together. At that moment, I realized I wanted to do the same, especially before getting married, so I would know what kind of person he was when something happened during our trip and if he was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

My partner and I live in Europe and have been to many places, so backpacking there was not an option. Therefore, we decided to do it in Asia and chose Sri Lanka because we had never been there and his friends had a lovely experience there. Backpacking as a couple in Sri Lanka was the best decision ever!

Sri Lanka is close to India but safer and more female-friendly than India. It’s also a backpacker-friendly place because you can visit everywhere with tuk tuk and it is not expensive.

Sri Lanka has breathtaking natural beauty; we visited many fantastic places for the spectacular wildlife and stunning landscapes. Highly recommend hiking at Little Adam’s Peak, visiting the wild animals at national parks, and seeing Sigiriya, One of Sri Lanka’s seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

There was no direct flight from Europe, so we first took the flight from Amsterdam to Mumbai, then transferred to Colombo.

We’ve visited many places in Sri Lanka and had many great memories. We recommend staying at Base Camp Wilpattu, where you can stay at the camps inside the conservation area. The people working there were very friendly. We still remember our dinner; it was simple, but the food tasted great and romantic atmosphere; it was a very unforgettable experience.

We love Arugam Bay the most; it is a popular holiday destination where you can surf and enjoy the beach vibe.

If you don’t want to backpack like we did, it is also possible to have a luxury trip. You can customize your trip to how you like it and make the most out of Sri Lanka, which is one of the best places to travel with your significant other.

Slovenia: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Goya from GoyaGaleotta.com]

The view in Lake Bohinj from Slovenia

Picture this: an open road, a thrill of adventure, and your loved one by your side. This encapsulates the romantic road trip my (now) husband and I took around Slovenia, a European gem combining romance, nature, and culture.

Start your journey by landing in Ljubljana’s welcoming airport and renting a car, or driving in if you’re already in central Europe. Slovenia’s compact size and excellent infrastructure make navigation easy and every turn a step towards awe-inspiring experiences.

Slovenia offers variety in abundance. From an enchanting day trip to Lake Bled to the heavenly wines in Brda, you’re in for a treat! For adventurers, the Soca Valley’s breathtaking landscapes are irresistible, while architecture enthusiasts will fall in love with Piran’s intricate designs and stunning vistas. Luxury accommodations like Hotel Heritage in Ljubljana and eco-resort Garden Village Bled can add magic to your unforgettable road trip.

Slovenia surprises with contrasting experiences – from fine dining in Ljubljana to the serene tranquility of Lake Bohinj. For us, a core memory moment was our experience at Lake Bohinj, where were cheering each other on, ready to brave the invigorating chill of its waters. When we finally took the plunge, with rain gently peppering our skin, it morphed into one of the most romantic experiences we’ve ever shared.

A Slovenian road trip isn’t just about the sights, but also about intimate moments shared. Whether it’s being enveloped by the majestic Julian Alps or finding a secluded beach by Lake Bled, these experiences evoke pure bliss and deepen your connection. You may even find yourself realizing, “This person right here is my home.” Such profound realizations make you fall in love even more, providing stories to reminisce about, and making your Slovenian road trip a journey of love and discovery that you’ll cherish forever.

In essence, a Slovenian road trip offers a magical blend of romance, adventure, and unforgettable experiences, making it one of the best places to travel with a significant other and a perfect getaway for couples seeking to deepen their bond and create lifelong memories.

La Fortuna, Costa Rica: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Sarah from CostaRicaVibes.com]

Sarah and her significant other before zip lining in Costa Rica wearing their blue helmets

La Fortuna, Costa Rica is a jungle town with an impressive volcano backdrop. This town is easy to get to from either the San Jose International Airport or the Liberia International Airport. The drive from either location only takes about three hours.

La Fortuna is great to visit with your significant other because there are so many fun things to do here! Plus, a visit to a tropical jungle is always a fun experience to have.

My husband and I live in Costa Rica and visited La Fortuna many times before we got married. On our first visit to La Fortuna, we went zip-lining. The zip-lining experience we chose had a lot of options to go on tandem lines. It was interesting to see how we communicated and worked together as a team in an adrenaline-pumping situation. In the evening, we relaxed at one of the many thermal hot springs in town. This was the perfect way to wrap up the day with a more romantic feel.

A few other things to do in the area that will help you bond as a couple include; white water rafting, hiking around the Arenal Volcano, visiting the La Fortuna Waterfall, walking on hanging bridges, rappelling down a waterfall, and taking a wildlife tour.

One of the best places to stay is a resort called, Tabacon Hot Springs. Guests at this resort have access to all of the beautiful thermal pools on the property for the duration of their stay. Plus, it is possible to add on romantic options such as spa treatments and private dining.

Overall, La Fortuna is the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation for your next couple’s getaway!

Ireland: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Sam Opp of Find Love and Travel]

Cliffs in Ireland

Ireland is, surprisingly, one of the most romantic places to visit. The rolling countryside, small towns, cute B&B, and historic sites can create a very romantic atmosphere while also making you feel like you have traveled back in time.

Spend your days walking around the charming towns, viewing jaw-dropping scenery, and exploring famous castles with your partner.

One of the best attractions for couples to add to their Ireland itinerary is the Cliffs of Moher. The cliffs are said to have formed over 320 million years ago and now offer panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. This natural beauty can be visited by taking a road trip together, or you can get there via a hike.

Another adorable activity is walking around charming small towns like Cobh, Kinsale, and the Wicklow Mountains.

If you’re lucky to visit around Saint Patrick’s Day, you’ll get to experience Ireland at its best and feel the ever-present positive atmosphere that resides here.

Ireland is easily accessed by plane. One of the most popular airports is Dublin Airport. Upon arrival in Dublin, you can travel around using a rental car or public transport.

Riu Plaza The Gresham is a great hotel if you are staying in Dublin. This hotel is within walking distance of many attractions and has a delicious restaurant nearby called Flanagan Bar.

Peru: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Sharon from ITravelPeru.com]

The view from a square in Cusco.

Traveling by yourself around Peru can be great: there’s so much to see and do in this ancient region. But backpacking with your partner around Peru can be one of the most exciting experiences that you can have together. I’m Peruvian and one of the best memories I have with my boyfriend has been backpacking together for some weeks around Peru while showing him my country for the first time (he’s a foreigner). Our trip was so nice that he decided to stay living in Peru after that!

Located in South America, Peru is one of the countries in the continent with the oldest traditions and natural diversity and has everything for a trip of adventure, making it one of the best places to travel with your significant other.

The most popular places to explore are Machu Picchu and the Cusco area, the Amazon rainforest, Lake Titicaca (one of the highest in the world), hiking in Huaraz, and sandboarding in Huacachina. There’s so much to see that you would need at least 3 weeks in Peru to start getting a feel for the country.

Ideally, try to visit Cusco in June, when the Inti Raymi, the festival dedicated to the Sun, takes place.

The easiest way to get to Peru is by flying into Lima, the capital. In Lima, there are several backpackers hostels. If you are looking for a place to stay, one of the most well-known ones is The Point.

From Lima, you can fly to most of the major cities, but the country is also well connected by buses. Distances are long, so traveling by bus provides a great opportunity for stopping in different towns and cities along the way and being able to explore different places and see more of the local life.

Rhodes, Greece: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[Mansoureh from Travel with Mansoureh]

Mansoureh and significant other in front of a brown door and a stone structure in Rhodes

Rhodes is one of the prettiest Greek islands, located in the southern Aegean Sea. RAs the fourth largest island in Greece, Rhodes boasts a captivating blend of rich history, distinctive landscapes, and breathtaking beaches that make it a haven for couples seeking an unforgettable holiday. It offers romance, adventure, and cultural experiences.

The accessibility of the island is also a plus, with convenient flight connections from London and other major European cities.

With more than 300 sunny days, Rhodes is a great destination all year round. While I highly recommend you avoid July and August, the peak season, the best months to visit Rhodes are Late-May, June, September, and early October, when it is not too crowded and it is still warm enough to swim comfortably.

Rhodes is not small and public transport isn’t reliable. That’s why it is common to rent a car when visiting. It also gives you the freedom and flexibility to explore more hidden gems on the island.

The main attraction here is Rhodes Old Town, one of the oldest inhabited medieval towns in Europe. Swimming, Kayaking, Kitesurfing, and diving are some of the best things to do in Rhodes. If you are new to diving, this is the right place to learn or improve your scuba diving skills, since the dive sites here are not challenging and suitable for beginners.

Lindos, one of the most romantic villages on the island, is a great place to stay. The village is known for its clifftop acropolis and heart-shaped bay. For a unique romantic stay, book the adult-only Lindos Blu Luxury Hotel, offering an infinitive swimming pool.

This 9 islands archipelago is one of Europe’s best-hidden gems and a journey here will fulfill you both with the best memories and provide the certainties you need to know that that person is the one to embark on the biggest adventure of all, making it one of the best places to travel with your significant other.

Here you’ll find days of bliss within pristine water beaches and hot springs to relax or pure adventure trekking around beautiful volcanic trails and breathtaking views. These 9 pieces of natural paradise differ a lot from each other so if f it is your first time in the archipelago, the biggest island, São Miguel, is an excellent starting point with some of the most beautiful lagoons or with a fresh cup of tea in one of the few tea plantations in Europe.

If you’re more into adventure, on Pico island you’ll be able to climb Pico’s volcano, the highest point in Portugal; in São Jorge you’ll find one of the most overwhelming trails in Fajã da Caldeira de Santo Cristo, and in Faial you can trail around the island’s crater. The most untouched are

beautiful Flores and Corvo islands where the green cliffs spotted with waterfalls and a surreal landscape inside its crater are so mindblowing that the best way to describe it is as if it’s a Jurassic Park movie.

The weather in the Azores is unpredictable so it will test your capacity for fruitfulness, resilience, improvisation, and relativization. After all, you’re together and the ability to have a good time and find plans for two, regardless of a rainy day, is what it is about.

If you like music festivals and other types of art events, you can try to schedule your visit according to their dates, like Azores Fringe Festival (through all 9 islands), Tremor Music & Art Festival (São Miguel), or Walk and Talk (São Miguel).

There are several flights from Portugal and also some options from other European countries and the US and Canada, mainly to the biggest island, to Ponta Delgada (São Miguel) but also some to Lajes (Terceira), to Pico or Horta (Faial).

If you visit São Miguel (the biggest and main island), we recommend you stay at Santa Barbara Eco-Beach Resort, which is located in front of the beach of Santa Barbara, near Ribeira Grande (where there are several restaurants where to have dinner after exploring the island during the day) and also centrally located to visit any corner of the island.

Tenerife, Spain: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

If you are looking for a romantic destination that offers a wide range of activities, Tenerife is one of the best places to travel with your significant other. You can do anything from going on scenic hikes and stargazing to relaxing at the beach or visiting interesting museums.

Despite being an island, Tenerife is quite big, and depending on the type of experience you want with your loved one, you might choose to stay in the south or north. Having visited Tenerife with my partner, I prefer the north because it has amazing beaches but also cultural activities.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the capital, but it has a very relaxing atmosphere, except for the carnival when the city becomes one of the liveliest places in the world.

If you prefer a city with more things to do, head to Puerto de la Cruz, where you can visit Lago Martianez, an impressive outdoor pool next to the sea, explore the colorful neighborhood of Las Ranillas, go to its beautiful botanical garden, and indulge in delicious seafood.

Whether you stay in Santa Cruz or Puerto, you can also make amazing day trips to places like Garachico, considered one of the most beautiful towns in Spain, and Icod de los Vinos, where you can try banana wine.

Regarding getting to either of these cities, you will likely need to fly to Tenerife South Airport, as Tenerife North Airport mainly receives national flights, and take a bus or rent a car.

In addition to these places, there is no visit to Tenerife without visiting El Teide volcano, and another place that my partner and I loved was Masca village, a beautiful village in the middle of the mountains. The lush green landscapes are incredible.

Valencia, Spain: Best Places to Travel With Your Significant Other

[By Valencia Revealed]

The Hemisferic in Valencia is a huge building in a circular shape.

Traveling together before marriage offers an invaluable opportunity to discover shared passions and deepen your bond. I recommend visiting a place that won’t overwhelm you, so you and your partner can enjoy your destination stress-free. In my experience, Valencia is one of the best places to travel with your significant other.

Located on the picturesque eastern coast of Spain, Valencia has got it all – old-world charm, great weather, sandy beaches, and sunset spots to spare.

I recommend you kickstart your trip with a romantic walk along the narrow, cobbled streets of the Old Town. Here you’ll discover awe-inspiring architecture, from the towering Valencia Cathedral to the captivating ambiance of Mercado Central, as well as plenty of sidewalk cafés. Stop by one that serves Agua de Valencia, a decadent cocktail everyone seems to love and enjoy a relaxed spell while watching the locals go about their daily business.

The Old Town is great, but no visit to Valencia is complete without seeing the City of Arts and Sciences. This marvelous architectural complex hosts all kinds of exhibitions, performances, and screenings that will surely spark an engaging conversation. As one of the top places to visit in Valencia, it cannot be missed.

For an extra touch of romance, head to the sandy shores of Playa del Cabanyal. This beach provides a nice backdrop for enjoying Valencia’s Mediterranean vibes and it’s also a great sunset spot.

But that’s not all. Valencia is the land of fiestas. If you want to see the best of them, you must visit in March, when the world-renowned Las Fallas festival takes place. This festival will surely add a touch of magic to your trip as there are art installations, churros, and music everywhere you look.

The easiest way to get to Valencia is by plane. But taking the high-speed AVE train might be a faster option if you’re coming from somewhere in Spain.

Book a room at Caro Hotel in the heart of the Old Town to elevate your romantic getaways around the country.
