Chokladkoppen: The place on Stockholm’s postcards + Giveaway
There’s an amazing place that appears almost in every Stockholm postcard you see. It is located right in these buildings.

Gamla Stan is one of the most amazing places in Earth!
Right in that yellow building in the middle is one of the best Cafés I’ve even been: Chokladkoppen. Is a cozy and gay friendly warm place with one of the most amazing menus when it comes to sweets. And yes, you guessed it: I am a huge sweet and dessert fan!
I have been lucky enough to experience it on Summer and Winter and even though the vibe is the same, they are two different experiences. On summer is common for people to sit down outside and taste some of their amazing goodies.

The first time I went there… eating outside enjoying the Summer!
Some of the goodies that you may find for example, are definitely those raspberry pies that you can see in the pictures above and, also my beloved… WHITE HOT CHOCOLATE!

Raspberry pie and hot white chocolate! ♥
I will tell my truth here, I am not a fan of white chocolate but drinking hot white chocolate is necessary while you are in Stockholm. Summer or Winter stopping by and sipping some of this delicious beverage is mandatory. They definitely have some more drinks that you might check out, such as the hot chocolate with whipped cream, but definitely, I wanted to talk a little bit about my favorite treats. You need also to try the cinnamon rolls there, which many Stockholm locals say that they are a typical Swedish treat.

The white hot chocolate and the chocolate cake…
Is there anything better than this?
Chokladkoppen also have some hot dishes that you might like to try and that you can check on their menu. The location in Gamla Stan is one that is impossible to miss, since as we all know, is right in all those Stockholm postcards. My best advice: When you walk by Gamla Stan, stop in Chokladkoppen and try a few of those goodies.

My favorite is hot white chocolate as well! Even though I haven`t seen a drop of it in England…
Depends where I`m travelling, but in England there is a chain of coffee shops (like Starbucks) called Costa. I always stop by one when I`m travelling, especially in London or Edinburg – the cups of hot chocolate are large and always put some drops of black chocolate over the cream!
Usually I`m trying to find those little cozy and intimate coffee shops to make me feel like home surrounded by my friends, at least for a little while.
Nina
Lucky you! I mostly travel in Africa and to be frank I havent found any good coffee shops when was dealing with sweet tooth. At least not comparable to what we are used to in the West. So i usually end up with passion juice.

This food looks amazing! I need an extended european trip. Maybe one day!
Sarah
Ah I always see these buildings in pictures and now I know where they are. Thanks for sharing!
Valery
I was going to scratch off Stockholm from my list of places to visit before I leave Europe, but now you’ve just added it back on! Thanks for that! hihi
Brenda
Im glad I did that! Stockholm is one of my favorite places in Europe, even though is pretty expensive!

Your post makes me long to spend some time in Sweden… oh well, I guess IKEA will have to do 🙁
Linda
Here in Alaska, there is a store called Fred Meyers…their bakery section is amazing. Every time I go in I always have to get a fruit tart pie or a chocolate fruit cup with mousse and fresh berries inside. Very delicious bakery even if it’s inside a grocery store. I’m very much looking forward to my trip to New Hampshire in May. I love checking out other states food and dessert.
Linda
Swiss cake bakery in Puerto Rico. Their cakes amazing!
Brenda

aaaaah! I love it, it made me so hungry! lol
and you are so right – this stuff is mandatory in Sweden, you can’t survive their long winters without regular Fika and sweet cakes 🙂 I lived there for two years, so I can tell that you know what you are talking about.
Brenda
Their winter or even summers when its warmer! Fika is totally a fundamentak part of Swedish culture!

Okay, so I’m reading this before I’ve eaten breakfast — probably not a good idea (hehe!)
Everything looks and sounds so delicious!! I also LOVE white hot chocolate. A friend got me into it about 8 years ago when they suggested I try it when we were visiting a coffee shop in America.
Thanks for this post! Love it!

So that’s where it is! I was able to visit Sweden before but in the north side. Those desserts look yummy too.

I lived in Stockholm for a month, Gothenburg for about 10 months… fabulous! Spent a lot of time in shops down by the warf and university. Also traveling to Denmark on day trips. Loved the coffee and glass. Not quite soft serve ice cream. Now living in West Virginia and take day trips to DC. Hot tea and scones in the UK on the Isle of Wight. Right proper.
